If you or someone you know has dysphagia then comprehensive swallow diagnostics using FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) testing may be beneficial. When it comes to swallowing disorders, we use state of the art equipment to get an in-depth and up-close look at what exactly happens when you eat, drink, breathe, and speak. While these processes are relatively simple for many people, for those with dysphagia it can possibly be fear-inducing.
Swallow Studies by Shari, PLLC provides reliable swallow studies for patients in a variety of medical settings. FEES is cost-effective, reliable, and allows the patient to actively participate in the exam. The results gained during the study allow for development of an individualized treatment plan. FEES eliminates the need for exposure to radiation and provides a digital recording of the anatomical and physiological process of swallowing.

Skilled nursing facilities (SNF), long-term care facilities, long term acute care hospitals (LTACH), and physician’s offices
FEES competency mentorship
Hands-on training, interpretation, and report writing of both normal and abnormal swallow function, for Speech Language Pathologists working to become competent Endoscopists.
On-site or remote in-services and educational opportunities
Speaking engagements in all settings we service to further educate medical staff about dysphagia, instrumental swallow studies, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we guest lecture to university dysphagia classes and present at local, state, and national level conferences.
Meet Shari
Shari Ferman is the owner and chief Endoscopist, who is also a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist practicing in Illinois, Indiana, and other midwestern states. Shari attended Syracuse University for her undergraduate degree and furthered her education at California State University, Los Angeles where she graduated in 2004 with a Master of Art in Speech-Language Pathology.
